Kufri is a charming hill resort at the foothills of Himalayas, positioned at the southern part of Himachal Pradesh 13 kms from Shimla. Chail Palace :

Constructed in the year 1891, by Maharaja Bhupinder Singh of Patiala as a place of residence at an elevation of 2250 m, Chail Palace stands as a magnificent piece of architecture. The Chail Palace is one of the most famous attractions in Chail that every traveler wishes to have a look at.


Chail Wildlife Sanctuary :

The Chail Wildlife Sanctuary came into existence in the year 1976. Spread across an area of 10,854.36 hectares, the Deodar & Oak populated sanctuary houses an array of fauna species like ghoral, kakkar, sambhar, red jungle fowl, khalij, cheer pheasants.


Cricket Ground :

Built in the year 1893, Chail Cricket ground stands at an elevation of 2,444 m as highest cricket ground in the world. The cricket ground also has a basketball court and a beautifu;l tree house made by the Chail Military School. The school also uses this playground as well as polo ground.


Chail Military School :

Chail Military School was established in the 1922 after the WWI as a residential school. Located amidst pine & deodar forests at a height of 2144 meters, the Chail Military School is situated in the Chail Sanctuary.


Chail Gurudwara :

One of the famous religious attractions of the region, Chail Gurudwara was the first construction initiated by the Maharaja in Chail. The Gurudwara with 22ft high wooden roof was made in the year 1907 in indo-western architectural style.

By Air : The airport at Jubbarbhati in Shimla is the nearest airport to reach Chail.

By Train : The railhead at Kalka is the nearest to approach Chail.

By Road : One can find numerous state run buses to Chail from Shimla, Chandigarh and Delhi.
